The Community Behind Ohio and Pennsylvania TABs and Friends

For many RV owners, their camper is exactly that — a home on wheels that offers comfort and shelter on the road. But for nuCamp owners, it often becomes something more: a conversation starter, a shared connection, and the beginning of lifelong friendships.

That shared bond is what inspired the Ohio and Pennsylvania TABs and Friends group, a Facebook community of nuCamp owners who gather several times a year to camp together. In a time when connection often happens through screens, nuCamp owners are finding something increasingly rare: genuine community built around campfires and shared adventures.

“This is just a group of people who like to hang out together because we have this one thing in common,” owner Blythe Jones said, gesturing to her TAB 320 CS. “… We have a whole circle of friends we never would have met if it weren’t for this little thing on two wheels.”

Unlike larger, more structured rallies—such as the annual uCamp Rally in Ohio — the Ohio and PA gatherings are intentionally low-key. There are no packed itineraries or themed events, just casual campfires, occasional potlucks, and plenty of time to enjoy the simple beauty of camping together.

TAB 360 ambassador Jenn Grover and TAB 400 owner Dawn Harris play key roles in the group, serving as Facebook moderators and helping select campgrounds for each meetup.

For Dawn, owning a nuCamp has been life-changing. It has given her the freedom to travel, explore, and form meaningful connections along the way.

“If you are interested in getting together and meeting people that also camp, it’s just — in my opinion — the very best camper you can have to do that,” Dawn shared.

Jenn echoed that sentiment, admitting she never expected buying a camper to lead her to a community like this. She wasn’t searching for a connection — but her TAB 320 had other plans. Today, those friendships feel “as close as family.”

“When we get together, there’s something special that happens,” Jenn said. “It feels like there’s never a stranger in the group.”

The Ohio and Pennsylvania TABs and Friends currently have two campouts planned for 2026: a spring meetup at Caesar Creek State Park in Waynesville, Ohio, in May, and the Cook Forest Summer Meetup in Cooksburg, Pennsylvania, in June.

Despite the group’s name, participation isn’t limited to Ohio or Pennsylvania residents. Scott Houseman, a TAB 320 owner from Indiana, has attended several gatherings — and was inspired to start one of his own. He now hosts an annual meetup at Brown County State Park in Indiana, scheduled for May this year.

For Scott, these gatherings offer a chance to disconnect from screens and reconnect with people and nature.

“We spend half our lives glued to screens anymore,” he reflected. “With (a nuCamp RV), you’re having conversations with real people. Sitting around a campfire or even in the camper — you just have fantastic conversations you wouldn’t have any other way.”

Whether you’re a seasoned nuCamp owner or just starting out, groups like Ohio and Pennsylvania TABs and Friends prove that you’re never camping alone.

  1. I’m originally from Ohio. My husband and I own a 2018 T@B CSS and reside in Tennessee. We have enjoyed camping with this welcoming group. We try to fit at least one if not two of their campouts. Lots of friendship and fun.

  2. As one who lives alone, the nuCamp community has been a life-saver, and quite an unexpected surprise. Clearly, these nuCamp campers have become some of my dearest friends! ❤️

  3. I love this group! I travel once a year from North Carolina to join one of their meetups. It’s a great group of people.
